Settle in with the rich history & calming beauty of Cape Cod and its neighboring islands.

Your tour begins in Boston with guided sightseeing of “Bean Town’s” most famous sights, a harbor cruise, and two overnights. Visit Newport, Rhode Island, for a guided tour of Cornelius Vanderbilt’s opulent home, the Breakers mansion.

Itinerary (sample)

Day 1 Boston

  • Welcome to “Beantown!” This evening, mingle with your traveling companions for a welcome drink.

  • Your Tour Director will prepare you for the upcoming adventure.

Day 2 Boston

  • Enjoy breakfast followed by a guided walking tour of the city’s most prominent landmarks: Boston Common; the Old State House and the Old North Church, from where Paul Revere got the signal to start his famous ride; Freedom Trail; and Faneuil Hall, with a chance to browse through Quincy Market.

  • An afternoon harbor cruise takes you to see the Bunker Hill Monument and the site of the Boston Tea Party. Balance of the day is at your leisure.

Day 3 Boston-Plymouth-Hyannis

  • After breakfast head south to Plymouth, where the Pilgrims landed nearly 400 years ago and founded the first permanent settlement in New England. See famous Plymouth Rock.

  • Explore Plymouth Plantation and learn about how daily life was for the Pilgrims. Then learn the true story of Thanksgiving in a private presentation.

  • Visit Flax Pond Farms, a working cranberry bog, and hear how this native fruit is harvested and processed.

  • Enjoy a traditional seafood dinner this evening!

  • Check into the Red Jacket Beach Resort, located on the Nantucket Sound. Amenities include a private beach with water activities, outdoor pool, tennis court, restaurant, lounge and spa (some resort activities are seasonal).

Day 4 Hyannis Area & Trip to Nantucket

  • After breakfast head for the ferry for your ride to Nantucket. Once there, enjoy lunch and stroll around Straight Wharf with its marinas, shops, and art galleries. Take in the narrow streets and admire charming Colonial-style houses and imposing mansions that reflect the prosperity of Nantucket’s whaling era.

  • During your free time, visit the Whaling Museum with its top-quality exhibitions and rooftop observation deck.

  • Return to Hyannis and see the John F. Kennedy Memorial and St. Francis Xavier Church before returning to the resort.

Day 5 Hyannis Area & Optional Trip to Cape Cod

  • After breakfast choose to simply relax at your oceanfront resort or join us an on excursion to Cape Cod’s peninsula’s arm to visit Provincetown or “P-town”, a lively summer resort and artist’s colony.

  • In Provincetown, stroll and shop along Commercial street, enjoy an optional whale-watching expedition or dune-buggy ride on the Provincetown Dunes.

Day 6 Hyannis Area & Trip to Martha’s Vineyard

  • After breakfast, depart on a ferry ride to Martha’s Vineyard and enjoy a guided tour that features Oak Bluffs with its Victorian “gingerbread” architecture.

  • Spend some time in Edgartown, once an important shipping and whaling center. Check out the enticing village stores, take a walk along the ocean, and admire the elegant homes along the tree-lined streets.

  • Return to Hyannis where the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 7 Hyannis Area-Newport

  • After breakfast, we’ll head to Newport, an elegant yachting mecca on Narragansett Bay in the “Ocean State” of Rhode Island. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Newport and see the first state house, the nation’s oldest synagogue, and the city’s oldest meeting house and library.

  • Afterward, explore the extravagant lifestyle of a bygone era when visiting the Breakers shipping magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt’s opulent mansion.

  • That evening enjoy a special farewell dinner with your Tour Director.

Day 8 Newport-Boston

  • After breakfast head back into Boston. All travelers whom are flying out are requested to book flights out of Boston Logan Airport no earlier than 2pm.
